Halos & Horns is the 39th studio album by Dolly Parton, released on July 9, 2002. Her third album for the independent, roots music label Sugar Hill, the album continued Parton's experimentation with the folk and bluegrass sounds begun on The Grass Is Blue 1999 and Little Sparrow 2001. Of the album's songs, perhaps the most noteworthy selection was Parton's folksy cover of Led Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven" (with which Zep singer Robert Plant was said to be pleased).

Halos & Horns is the fortieth solo studio album by Dolly Parton released on July 9, 2002 on Sugar Hill/Blue Eye Records. The album explores Parton’s bluegrass roots, a continuation of The Grass is Blue and Little Sparrow. The album debuted at on the US Country Albums chart and on the Billboard 200. Internationally, the album debuted at on the UK Country Albums chart.

This is an excellent album by a great performer. It deviates slightly from her recent work (Little Sparrow, The Grass Is Blue) in a couple of ways: First, of the 14 tracks on this album, Dolly wrote 12. Usually, she includes more covers in a record. Because her own songs tend to be Heartbreakers or Prayers, this album has a very personal, spiritual feel, which is quite nice. These days, you pretty much have to go to traditional or alternative country to get music this tender. Second, the album is not straight bluegrass, traditional country. From "Halos and Horns", to "Stairway to Heaven", this CD is well worth purchasing for yourself and family/friends! I really enjoy Dolly's Interactive media program on the CD. It's cool to see pictures of her on the road and in the studio!
