Rockin' All Over the World is the tenth studio album by British band Status Quo. It is their first to be produced by Pip Williams and the first to feature Andy Bown as a regular contributor to the band; he would later join the band officially in 1982. Released in November 1977, it reached in the UK. "A poxy album," said guitarist and singer Francis Rossi. There's nothing poxy about Rockin' All Over the World," countered guitarist Rick Parfitt.

Gilroy expresses blackness in Britain as being viewed as a perpetual, existential 'problem'. A problem that has no cultural worth of its own, and whose very presence has a corrupting influence on non-black, British people. Furthermore, Gilroy is of the opinion that this kind of colour prejudice exists historically throughout British culture, and is exident on both the left and right wings of UK politics. It is as if the 'unfamiliar' has been demonised a priori. The same rightwing press demonised a British black man called Everton Sameuls (a Rastafarian), for a petty, cannibus related crime.

We need to grasp how their coming together took place in a desperate setting which nonetheless allowed black communities over several generations to be recognised as political actors: they were irreducible to their class positions because racism entered into the multi-modal processes in which classes were being constituted.
