After teasing with the Kasm spin off 10 release, Legendary IDM imprint Skam presents the second LP from The Fear Ratio – the joint project of two of the UK’s most respected artists James Ruskin and Mark Broom

Fear is the fourth solo studio album by Welsh musician John Cale, released on 1 October 1974 by Island Records. Fear is the first of Cale's three studio albums for Island Records, all of which were released in a period of just over a year. During this time Cale was also producing records for other artists, working on albums such as Horses by Patti Smith, one of the most influential of all proto-punk records.

Artist: The Fear Ratio. Album: Refuge of a Twisted Soul. Format: MP3 320Kbps, FLAC. The Fear Ratio – Kasm01 (2015).

It’s the sixth instalment in the series of limited releases on the London label headed by Ruskin himself, following Rumah & Progression's excellent collaborative EP of big room techno from 2014. On the flip, both bass and kick appear more muscular, seething underneath prominently staged hi-hats, effectively accumulated to build tension before the redemptive drop. Ruskin & Broom (aka The Fear Ratio).

Talk about The Fear Ratio - 1.1

Nikok
"Skam Records inaugurate their Kasm imprint with a three-tracker of tough techno mutations from UK techno legends James Ruskin and Mark Broom's collaborative project The Fear Ratio. Last seen on Ruskin's Blueprint label a few years back with two 12"s and an LP that twisted the industrial Birmingham-via-Detroit-rooted sound both producers have made their names with but in keeping with a great British lineage of experimental electronics unleashed upon the world by labels such as Skam it's a no brainer that the duo's return is on the legendary Mancunian imprint. Starting off the EP on a roll with the clenched-fist bare-bones techno grind of 'FRT3' a strong kick breaks its way through the digital mist while ghosted synths drift around the edges just out of reach. Before the club cut with the nexxx level phase of '201222' sounding like SND on a Downwards tip the track skitters through the speakers with a lack of oxygen and off-kilter twisted snares snaking through the mix while the glitch garage work out of 'Arel' closes out this first Kasm cut with a shattered industri-dub techno banger giving a sideways glance to the work of Skam label mates Bola and Mr.76ix."
