But Siege of Hate is an exception; this Brazilian band, which has been around since 1997, doesn't show a major Scandinavian influence on 2005's Subversive by Nature. Instead, this release is a throwback to the early days of American and British death metal, recalling Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Death and early Slayer. Subversive by Nature takes us back to a time when thrash metal and hardcore (of the pre-metalcore variety) were giving way to early death metal and Scandinavia had yet to dominate the field.
