Silver is the seventh album by Minneapolis Celtic rock band Boiled in Lead. The band's first studio album in 13 years, Silver also marked Boiled in Lead's 25th anniversary. The album also reflected a number of significant lineup changes. It was the band's first studio recording after the return of longtime lead singer Todd Menton, and the addition of guitarist Dean Magraw  . Critical reception to Silver was positive.

It's been a long, long time since BiL released an album of new material, and for the most part they've kept the group alive with annual St. Patrick's day concerts. It might be a surprise, then, to have them come back so strongly. There's the usual crosscultural mix, a sprinkling of trad folk ("House Carpenter," "Apple Tree Wassail"), some trips outside Western culture ("Menfi," "Berber"), and some contemporary material.

Boiled in Lead is a world music band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They formed in 1983, going through a number of membership changes over the years. They continue to perform today, most notably each Saint Patrick's Day at The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Their first album, Bold Ned (1985) contained primarily traditional music, much of it Celtic, as well as a cover of "Over Under Sideways Down" by The Yardbirds
