Flowers in the Rain" is a song by English rock band The Move. The song was released as a single and reached number two in 1967 on the UK Singles Chart, and number four in Ireland. It achieved its own place in pop history by being the first record to be played on BBC Radio 1 when the station was launched on 30 September 1967 (though technically both George Martin's ed "Theme One" and Johnny Dankworth's "Beefeaters" were the first tracks to be heard on the station

Move is the debut album by The Move, released on the Regal Zonophone label. The only one which was recorded by the group’s initial line-up before bassist Ace Kefford left, it includes both sides of their third and fourth singles ("Flowers in the Rain" and "Fire Brigade"). Flowers in the Rain" was the first ever song played on Radio 1 in September 1967 by Tony Blackburn.
