Why You So Crazy is the tenth studio album by American alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols, released on January 25, 2019, through Dine Alone Records. It was supported by the single "Be Alright", for which a 360 video was made starring actress Jessica Paré, and will be promoted by a 2019 tour.

The Dandy Warhols begin the album with an aural incongruity enshrining Why You So Crazy as an act of defiance. The opening "Fred n Ginger" sounds as if it is being played off a wax-cylinder. A jaunty yet friable vibe, the overture could have been plucked off a soundtrack for a golden-era film. Sins Are Forgiven" is a tremendous reminder of John Lennon's own foray into country music while still a Beatle. Highlife" infuses a trip-hop feel against a country twang while sprinkling in genre cliches.

Ten albums in to their recording career, and several albums since relevancy, The Dandy Warhols have released "Why You So Crazy". Disclosure: I like this band. I've seen them live a half dozen times. I own a t-shirt and 13 Tales is one of my top albums of all time. With that said, the Dandy have fallen so far, even Drake isn't sure he could.

The Dandy Warhols have embarked on a quest to strip their sound ever since This Machine was conceived. While never ones to stagnate sonic-wise, their decisions have been questionable lately. As soon as the track gives way to album closer, ‘Ondine’, a six-minute virtuoso piano solo that makes no sense in this already nonsensical context, I gave up on Why You So Crazy. I actually wanted/hoped this longest cut (amid these 2 or 3-minute numbers) to save this entire journey, but it didn’t. No matter how much I admire The Dandy Warhols for marching to their own beat, never compromising (and I’m all for crazy experimentation), their musical output lately seems like the result of excessive brain frying sessions in their own Odditorium.

Why You So Crazy is indeed a reflection of their uniqueness and disregard for predefined musical categories. In doing so, they manage to be both entertaining and exhausting; likely, an intentional contradiction. This is the sound of The Dandy Warhols cutting loose and having fun.
