Nyman/Greenaway Revisited, the second volume in The Composer's Cut Series, highlights these early soundtracks, and the best-known selections are brought together in revitalized performances from 2005 by the Michael Nyman Band, with the exception of Memorial, which dates back to 1992. Of all the tracks, Memorial has become one of Nyman's signature themes and has had an independent concert life outside the score for The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover; one wonders why it did not receive a fresh makeover considering its popularity and prominence in Nyman's repertoire. Notes

The Composer's Cut Series Vol. 2

"The purpose of The Composer's Cut series is to present music from my soundtracks in a state of continuous evolution. As I transferred particular cues from film to concert hall both musical structures changed and performance styles developed, enabling the music, perhaps, to realise its true potential. So these recordings represent the Michael Nyman Band's state-of-performance as of Spring 2005."

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, April 2005, except track 10 recorded at Abbey Road Studios, 1992.
All tracks edited and mixed at Olympic Studios, August 2005.
