David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its style and content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that he was later known for, such as the folk rock influenced "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

David Bowie is the second studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released under that title by Philips in the UK, and as Man of Words/Man of Music by Mercury in the US, on 14 November 1969. It was reissued in 1972 by RCA Records as Space Oddity (the title of the opening track, which had reached No. 5 in the UK Singles Chart). Space Oddity was the name used for CD releases of the album in 1984, 1990 and 1999, but it reverted to the original, eponymous title for 2009 and 2015 reissues.

David Bowie was planning a TV adaptation of George Orwell's '1984' when he chatted with William S. Burroughs. Terry O'Neill/Getty Images. Quite a contrast to Burroughs’ humble two-room Piccadilly flat, decorated with photos of Brion Gysin – modest quarters for such a successful writer, more like the Beat Hotel in Paris than anything else. Soon Bowie entered, wearing three-tone NASA jodhpurs. He jumped right into a detailed description of the painting and its surrealistic qualities. Burroughs nodded, and the on began

Bowie performed an extraordinary stylistic pivot between Diamond Dogs and Young Americans, and made it look easy – but as this new box set shows, it was a more convoluted and problematic shift than it appeared at the time. In May 1974, David Bowie released his eighth album, Diamond Dogs.

David Bowie The Longest Hours – New York 1999-11-19,Milan 1999-12-04 – SQ 8,5.

David Bowie released 'The Man Who Sold the World' in November 1970. All this goes back to the decision Bowie and Visconti made that day at Haddon Hall. The marquis may read "David Bowie," but beginning with The Man Who Sold the World, underneath the album covers beat several musical hearts. Listen to David Bowie's 'The Width of a Circle'. Speaking of album covers, this album has four of them. release features an illustration by Michael Weller that depicts a gun-toting cowboy walking past the gates of London's Cane Hill Asylum.

Notes

This is a repackaging with new artwork of two albums Bowie* - Dollars In Drag - The 1980 Floor Show and Bowie* And The Spiders From Mars* - Last Stand: His Master's Voice (or an equivalent) using updated stampers from original lacquer cuts.

In the Run-out grooves, the TAKRL numbers are barred. The titles of the two previous The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label bootlegs from which these LPs are taken, is stated on each label.

Also released with white plain labels.
Also released with yellow plain labels.

The cover states this is from Australia - this is incorrect - and was an attempt to deflect authorities. The concept was that local authorities may be aware of what was released locally, but not as sure of what constituted a legally made import. As the packaging improved and was a similar quality to legal releases (as the plain covers and insert of the early to mid 1970s did attract unwanted attention) other means were used to fool authorities.

It is a US manufactured product using original US TAKRL stampers.

Talk about David Bowie - The Beat Goes On

Amis
As usual the error is in thinking different labels mean a different pressing. This double album from the west coast USA and a reissue of 2 Kornyphone releases first appeared with Toasted Labels around 1980.It was then copied on the East Coast and all 3 releases above are the same basic pressing as are the limited multi colour issues. These releases from the East side at this time were done to order and whatever labels that were available at the time were used until finished and then another different batch used or indeed just plain white. You will see all the label variations here on other releases from the same area around the early to mid 1980s.

This a reissue on a different label and with different cover of two bootlegs from 1974: His Masters Voice / His First Farwell Tour LP (The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label, TAKRL 1935), but only including the London, Hammersmith Odeon 03.07.73 tracks (missing Rebel Rebel and Panic in Detroit), and of the Dollars in Drag LP (The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label, TAKRL 1905), reproduced in its entirety, thus including the London, Marquee Club 18-20.10.73 tracks, plus Supermen (from the compilation "Glastonbury Fayre"), and Hang On To Yourself and Man In The Middle, both official Arnold Corns releases."1984" also includes the officially unreleased track Dodo.
