Renaissance is the self-titled debut album by the English progressive rock band Renaissance, released in late 1969. All tracks written by Keith Relf and Jim McCarty, with themes by John Hawken and Louis Cennamo, except where noted. Jane Relf - vocals, percussion. Keith Relf - electric guitar, vocals, harmonica. John Hawken - piano, harpsichord. Louis Cennamo - electric bass guitar. Jim McCarty - drums, vocals. Paul Samwell-Smith - producer. Andy Johns - engineer.

Now this is a strange album - 75%. MaDTransilvanian, June 8th, 2010. For a good three years now I’ve owned this album, Renaissance, by Russian black metal band Grom (the normal one, not the NS one). And in those three years, I’ve intermittently listened to this album, resulting in variable levels of enjoyment. I’ve come to the conclusion that this album is pretty cool and interesting to listen to, but that it’s not exactly a complete masterpiece of black metal. In fact, it’s a little more complicated than that.
