12 Songs is the twenty-sixth studio album by Neil Diamond, released in 2005. It was his first studio album since 2001's Three Chord Opera. It was produced by Rick Rubin. The working title for the album was self-titled. The original pressing of the album was copy-protected using Sony's controversial XCP technology. Initial work on the album began after Diamond had concluded his tour behind Three Chord Opera in 2002

Calling 12 Songs Neil Diamond's best album in three decades may be a little misleading: truth be told, it doesn't have much competition in his discography. While Diamond never stopped making albums, he did seem progressively less interested in recording sometime after the Robbie Robertson-produced 1976 album Beautiful Noise. Following that weird, ambitious album, he pursued a slicker, streamlined course and started writing less original material.

Neil Diamond is a Cree filmmaker based in Montreal, Quebec, born and raised in Waskaganish, Quebec. Working with Rezolution Pictures, Diamond has directed the documentary films Reel Injun, The Last Explorer, One More River, Heavy Metal: A Mining Disaster in Northern Quebec and Cree Spoken Here, along with three seasons of DAB IYIYUU, a series for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network about Cree elders. 12 Songs is the twenty-sixth studio album by Neil Diamond, released in 2005. It was his first album of all-original, all-new material since 2001's Three Chord Opera.

Yesterday's songs Don't stay around long Not much anymore Yesterday's words Don't make themselves heard Like they did before. Baby, yesterday's blues May be yesterday's news But the truth always stays the same And the good things will never change Like sayin' "I love you" Just sayin' "I love you". Yesterday's songs Don't seem to belong They're here and they're gone Yesterday's moves Don't stay in the grooves. Unfortunately, we are not licensed to display the full lyrics for this song at the moment due.

Chosen by Neil Diamond, who released two best-selling volumes of The Christmas Album in the 90s, and whose Acoustic Christmas album is out now. A Christmas Gift for You has many of my favourite songs, sung by some of my favourite singers of the time, such as Darlene Love, the Ronettes and the Crystals. They are all up-tempo songs, and I like that. My favourites are Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, Marshmallow World and Frosty the Snowman. I didn’t work with Phil, but I met him a couple of times. When this came out in 1957, the archetype for Christmas songs was Bing Crosby’s White Christmas. But this is raw and wild, about women, sex and cars. Elvis was just being natural, but it was seen as rebellious and probably sounded like an assault on the pop establishment.

Before Neil Diamond made his name as an arena-packing performer, he made his living as a Brill Building songwriter. You probably know the hits he penned for others ("I'm a Believer", "Red Red Wine") as well as the many he emblazoned with his distinctive baritone. Yeah, the dentures-foaming fervor he inspires in his fans has made him an easy joke-butt, but that's why 12 Songs arrives with such a perfect Hollywood pitch. The songwriting, however, is the problem.
