Hawaii is the third studio album by the Anglo-Irish avant-pop band the High Llamas, released on 25 March 1996 on the band's Alpaca Park label. The arrangements of Hawaii incorporate more electronic sounds than its predecessor Gideon Gaye (1994), while its lyrics loosely address themes of nomadism, nostalgia, film and musical theatre, and the effects of colonialism. The record peaked at 62 on the UK Albums Chart for a one-week stay

Possessed with a unique delivery Sharky reminds me of other interesting artists such as PJ Harvey and Bjork. Hawaii" itself is a jazzy pop composition created by Sharky and producer duo Speakman Sound. Inspired by c’s biblical Glastonbury set and Clooney’s The Descendants, it's impossible not to like this track. Lyrically the song is about material things stopping us from being all that we can, with the lyrics a mixture of Sharky's own worlds and text from Haruki Murikami’s Dance Dance Dance.

Music of Hawaii is a compilation album containing five 78rpm records of Hawaiian music issued by Decca Records. Historically, the term "album" was applied to a collection of various items housed in a book format. In musical usage the word was used for collections of short pieces of printed music from the early 19th century. Later, collections of related 78rpm records were bundled in book-like albums (one side of a 78 rpm record could hold only about . minutes of sound).

Following her first single Cause and Effect, Hawaii is a collaborative project with producer duo Speakman Sound inspired by c’s biblical Glastonbury set and Clooney’s The Descendants. Far removed from the grey and the cold of London, Sharkey’s Hawaii is a psychedelic odyssey filled with complex production, intricate melodies and a whole lot of attitude. Interestingly the lyrics were made through the cut-ups process (made famous by David Bowie) using a mixture of her own words and a selection of text from Haruki Murikami’s Dance Dance Dance. The end product cleverly reflects the static nature of material things stopping one achieving their full potential.
