The Great War is the upcoming ninth studio album by Swedish power metal band Sabaton. It is set to be released on July 19, 2019. It is the first studio album to feature guitarist Tommy Johansson. The album's first single, "Fields of Verdun", was released on May 3, 2019. The album's next song, "The Red Baron" was released on June 13. The title song, "Great War", was released on June 27. Side by side with the album, the Swedes have worked hard to make their 20th year anniversary a very exciting year, and also started the SABATON History Channel - a unique collaboration between the band themselves and multimedia historians Indy Neidell and Timeghost, capturing the power of social media to tell stories about the wars, battles and heroes behind SABATON’s songs.

Heroes (Sabaton album). Heroes is the seventh studio album by Swedish power metal band Sabaton. It was released on 6 May 2014. It is the first album to feature the new Sabaton line-up with guitarists Chris Rörland and Thobbe Englund as well as new drummer Hannes van Dahl. It was produced by Peter Tägtgren in Abyss Studios. Sabaton: Swedish power metal band from Falun. The band's main lyrical themes are based on war, historical battles, and acts of heroism-the name is a reference to a sabaton, knight's foot armor. The armor and battle theme is heard in the albums Primo Victoria, Attero Dominatus, The Art of War, Coat of Arms, Carolus Rex, Heroes, and The Last Stand in which all of the songs contain these motifs, except final tracks which are tribute songs to influential heavy metal bands.
