Ocean Grove are an Australian nu metal band formed in 2010. Their initial line-up was Jimmy Hall on guitar, Luke Holmes on lead vocals, Mathias Morales on drums and vocals, Dale Tanner on vocals and bass guitar, and Running Touch on guitar. In 2013 Morales was replaced on drums by Sam Bassal and in the following year Matthew Henley joined on guitar as Touch became a studio-only member.

Ocean Grove; not known givers of fucks. Thunderdome‘, which early on features studio member, Running Touch (that’s the steampunk dude from their music videos who looks like he just stepped off a Mad Max film set), shows the band setting their sights on a more mainstream crowd rather than a purely hardcore/metalcore audience. What I truly love about this album is that while it’s definitely a different musical route for the band, it’s an interesting yet feasible path for them to take, and that’s why it doesn’t feel at all forced.
