Jinx is a Croatian pop band from Zagreb which was formed in 1993. They began their career under the name "High Jinx" coming from a concert in a Zagreb night-club Saloon. The members of Jinx are guitarist Coco Mosquito, vocalist Jadranka Bastajic Yaya, drummer Berko Muratovic, keyboardist Mr. Goody, trumpet player Igor Pavlica and bassist Adam Matijasevic. Former members of the band are Goony, Kiky the Kid, bassist Samir Kadribasic, trumpet player Rudi and saxophone player Jordes.

1995 – Jinx release their debut album Sextasy in English. 1996 – Berko and Samir join the band. 1997 – Jinx signed their first record deal with Aquarius Records and released their second album Second Hand. 1998 – Jinx received a prestigious award by Radio France International in Bucharest for Best new European artist. The Cardigans went on to win this same award in 1999. 1999 – Jinx released their third album Pompei – Ljetna Ploča Katastrofe. 2001 – Their fourth album Avantura Počinje (first planned to be named "Paranormalno!") is released

They received critical acclaim and widespread popularity and success with their albums in Croatia and internationally. After the release of their second album "Avantura počinje", the band went on hiatus in 2002. and eventually got back together four years later and started work on recording their new album in secrecy.
