Weird Al" Yankovic in 3-D (often referred to simply as In 3-D) is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter "Weird Al" Yankovic, released on February 28, 1984, by Rock 'n Roll Records. The album was one of many produced by former The McCoys guitarist Rick Derringer. Recorded between October and December 1983, the album was Yankovic's follow-up to his modestly successful debut LP, "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Weird Al" Yankovic (1983). Okay, so number 14 of 14 is Al’s debut album. This is by no means a bad album, but as Al continued making music over the years he really came into his own, and refined the craft of musical humor which left this album in the metaphorical dust. The parodies on this album are decent enough. The originals leave a bit to be desired. Personally, I like the song Happy Birthday which was written because Al thought there should be some options when it came to selecting a song to sing to someone on their birthday

AKA: Alfred Yankovic, Alfred M. Yankovic, and Alfred Matthew Yankovic. About "Weird Al" Yankovic. Alfred Matthew Weird Al Yankovic, born October 23, 1959, is widely praised as one of the greatest comedy musicians of all time. He’s best known for direct parodies that rewrite the lyrics of popular songs, but he has also written dozens of original melodies. A Lynwood, California native and graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (or better known as California Polytechnic State University), Weird Al released his eponymous debut album in 1983

Almost immediately, Al sharpened his pop instincts. Eat It, Yankovic’s parody of Jackson’s hungry, fevered Beat It, became a sensation, because his concept was clean and its accompanying video arrived just when MTV was starved for content. The album amounted to a considerable commercial comeback, but Yankovic allowed himself to be distracted by Hollywood, releasing the muddled film UHF and its messier soundtrack in 1989. Arriving too late to be a sensation, UHF disappeared, and while the film has its cult, the soundtrack feels like an afterthought, as if Weird Al didn’t have the time to polish his compositions.
