Masque is the fifth regular studio album by The Mission which was released in January 1992 on the Vertigo sub-label of Mercury Records. Peaking at in the UK albums chart, it failed to repeat the commercial success of the previous two official studio albums and marked the beginning of The Mission's decline in popularity; it was also the band's last album to achieve a UK top 40 position, until the release of Another Fall From Grace in September 2016.

The Mission, for some strange reason, went for a little bit of everything. Never Again," the opener on Masque, sounds like the Mission really trying to go big-league '90s U2-Achtung Baby style, but ending up a bit more like a dance remix of themselves than a multi-styled stadium filler. Masque biography Based in Gthenburg, the band was launched in 1989 by guitarist Johan Engstrm and four other musicians. Alternately called DJ VU and then POCKETFUL, they released three demos ("Masque", "Distant Divineness" and "Behind Thoughts") before their first official album in 1992, "Flesh That Understands", under the name MASQUE. Ten Ways" followed two years after  . The Mission - Masque UK 1992 Vertigo LP with Inner Sleeve. The album issued at same Musea records in 1994 is quite diffrent then the predecesor, musicaly speaking. In places is darker, is more paced, the musicins and compositions are not up tempo at all, only mid paced tempo of all piece, with maybe one exception.
