American comedian and actress. Appearance on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1968. 1964 Best of Moms and Pigmeat, Vol. 1. 1965 Men in My Life. 1966 Moms Mabley at the White House Conference. 1968 Best of Moms Mabley.

Moms Mabley At The Playboy Club. This was considered racy at the time and will still go over kids heads (for the most part), as Moms rarely used 4 letter words and left a lot to the imagination- which was key to her humor, but here goes. This 1961 album consists of 2 performances. One before a Black audience at the Uptown theater in Philadelphia, and another before a whiter crowd at the Playboy Club in Chicago, both in August 1961. Because of her dilect and subject matter, the first crowd responds more heartily to her material. Other classic Moms that need to be on CD include "NOW HEAR THIS" (1965) and "I LIKE EM YOUNG" (1972).

Jackie "Moms" Mabley (March 19, 1894 – May 23, 1975), born Loretta Mary Aiken, was an American standup comedian. A veteran of the Chitlin' circuit of African-American vaudeville, she later appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show and the The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Her cover version of "Abraham, Martin and John" hit on the Hot 100 on 19 July 1969.

In 1966, Mabley recorded Now Hear This for the Mercury label, an album so full of raunchy tales and blue humor that it became a hit at stag parties. Mabley’s raw humor is often cited as a reason for her lack of television appearances, a topic she addresses in Watkins’s book. It’s you and others in your position, she explained to a group of television executives, who keep me working where I have to use that kind of material.

Grillador
MG 21012 Mono as pictured. Confusing it is not. Mono and stereo 'SR 61012' for example, as the companies made the same label and positioned them differently on the sleeve for each type. The record label tells the truth and the back of the sleeve was generic carrying both designations often for most manufacturers.
