Empty Days & Sleepless Nights is the second studio album by the American melodic hardcore band Defeater. The album was released on March 8, 2011 through Bridge Nine Records. It was recorded at guitarist Jay Maas' Getaway Recording Studios in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Though bassist Mike Poulin was a member of the band at the time, bass on the record was contributed by former guitarist Gus Pesce and Jay Maas.

White Oak Doors is the last song on the Empty Days part of Defeater’s sophomore album Empty Days & Sleepless Nights. White Oak Doors starts with the older brother hearing a knock at the door. After grabbing his gun, he soon realizes that it’s his younger brother who ran away after brutally murdering their father. The older brother points the gun at the younger’s head and makes him walk to the train tracks (from Everything Went Quiet ). At the train tracks, the younger brother’s strength allows him to take control and he pins the older to the tracks

Empty Days & Sleepless Nights is a fourteen-song double LP (single CD) and the first four tracks showcase a new, acoustic side of the band that sounds a lot like Rocky Votolato and Ryan Adams.
