Letters Home (Defeater album). Letters Home is the third studio album by American hardcore punk band Defeater. Like their previous releases, Letters Home is a concept album, following the story of the father of the characters from these releases prior to the events of Travels.

Letters Home, the latest chapter and fourth overall, is another strong entry; it's not as large a stylistic jump as the band made between Lost Ground and Empty Days & Sleepless Nights, but it is the most direct, cohesive collection of their career  . Perhaps the most interesting track on Letters Home is closer "Bled Out," a six-and-a-half minute, perpetually distant song that maintains its pace and sound musically, and allows Archambault to escalate his voice around that; when he screams I am no one!

Letters Home is Defeater’s third studio album, released on July 16, 2013 by Brige 9 Records. It’s the first record do feature new drummer Joe Longobardi. The record is focused around the life of the father of the family and his perspective on some of the events discribed in previous records Travels and Empty Days and Sleepless Nights. All the songs are letters he wrote, some while he was fighting at World War II. Musically, the band tried to return to its roots, going for a more agressive and raw sound, with more emphasis on distorted guitars and Joe’s drumming style
