In the Absence of Truth is the fourth full-length studio album by Los Angeles, California-based post-metal band ISIS, released by Ipecac Recordings on October 31, 2006. Vinyl release was handled by Conspiracy Records. The album expands upon the group's previous full-length, Panopticon, further exploring lead singer Aaron Turner's clean vocals (though his former techniques, which relied more on screaming and growling are still present as well).

The Absence Discography.

Absence is an album that flows smoothly. There are no rough transitions or anything that would be out of place, consistency rules supreme here and I can safely say this album does no wrong. Too many times I come across albums that are consistently good but are lacking in any particular stand out moments, Absence is different because it’s jam packed full of stand outs. Absence isn’t a depressing album by any means but the atmosphere certainly comes across as dark and really has a genuine folk feeling without any real folk instruments. At times I am reminded of Agalloch as during the softer moments it carries with it that same forlorn feel that Agalloch is known for.

Album Holding Absence. I prayed until my hands were red A couple times I prayed for death I fell in love and back out again I learned that I was everything The rosary apologies, the light and dark inside of me Some blossomed into family, watched others wilt in front of me You watched me as I healed my burns. This is purge A lesson learned.
