Let the Music Play is the debut studio album by American dance and freestyle singer Shannon. The title track (originally called "Fire and Ice"), written by the team of Chris Barbosa and Ed Chisolm, became a massive hit, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number 1 on the Billboard dance chart. The album itself would go on to sell over one million copies worldwide.
John Gary was one of the most gifted and amazing vocalists of his generation, with legends as diverse as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley both singing his praises. His range was huge, 3 and a half octaves, and his breath control and diction only matched by Sinatra himself, but what makes this Christmas album so special besides his velvet voice is the great orchestral arrangements by Peter Matz of Barbara Streisand fame. The legendary Norman Luboff Choir provides the background vocals and they are exquisite as well. A special shout out to Real Gone Music and the Christmas Guru Chip Arcuri for getting this masterpiece released again on cd with original album art work and great pictures from Lee Gary.

Currently, The Beatles are one of the two musical acts to sell more than 1 billion records, with only Elvis Presley having been able to achieve the same feat.
In between his run of gold in the first half of the '70s and a pre-comeback sabbatical in the '80s, Barry White produced this top-notch album in 1976 as one of a long line of releases on the 20th Century label. While not full of any Top Ten pop hits, the six tracks do feature minor successes in "Baby, We Better Try to Get It Together," "You See the Trouble with Me" (co-written with White's guitarist at the time, Ray Parker, J., and the title track.
