David Rhodes hat sein zweites Soloalbum herausgebracht. Doch halt – nicht wirklich sein Soloalbum. Diesmal ist es etwas anders als bei Bittersweet. Die zentralen Musiker, die auch schon 2009 dabei waren und später mit David auf Tour gegangen sind, haben ein Trio gegründet und als solches das neue Album eingespielt. Es handelt sich dabei um David Rhodes selbst an den Gitarren, Ged Lynch am Schlagzeug und Charlie Jones am Bass. Dieses Trio nennt sich - weil alle anderen Namensversuche offenbar entweder zu wenig oder zuviel Bedeutung hatten - einfach "Rhodes". Vier Jahre sind inzwischen ins Land gezogen, seit David Rhodes, der Gitarrist von Peter Gabriel, sein erstes Solo-Album "Bittersweet" veröffentlicht hat. Nun hat das Warten ein Ende, denn sein Zweit-Solowerk "Rhodes" ist seit dem gestrigen Tag im Handel erhältlich.

David Rhodes – the name is a shorthand for Peter Gabriel's guitar, for an important part in Gabriel's musical work. The more reason to take a closer look at this artist and his current album Bittersweet. 1993 saw the release of a compilation called Plus From Us. The songs on the album were by some of the musicians who had worked on Peter Gabriel's album Us that had come out the year before. Most of these artists had produced their own albums by that time

David Rhodes was born on 2 May 1956 in London and attended art school, where he developed an interest in music. Shortly after graduation, he began recording and was a founding member of the rock band Random Hold, in which he performed vocals and lead guitar. He was soon asked to play with Peter Gabriel. His first appearance was on 1980's Peter Gabriel (also referred to as Melt), Gabriel's third studio album In 2009, he released his first studio album, Bittersweet.
