The Valley of Fear hits the ground running with Holmes receiving a cipher message which he solves while mocking Watson. You are developing a certain unexpected vein of pawky humour, Watson, against which I must learn to guard myself. Originally published in the year 1915, The Valley of Fear by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle contains two acts. Part 1 is about a tragedy that happens in Birlstone and Part 2 is about these group of people called The Scowrers. This book has an interesting storyline, with powerful characters and good dialogues.

Arthur Conan Doyle (novel), Norma Green (adaptation). The Valley of Fear has the same general problems as the rest of the adaptations, stiff character designs as well as some awkward camera angles, sluggish pacing and voice acting from the supporting voice actors that is on the monotone side. However, the pros are also similar in the four adaptations. Here like in Sign of Four there are handsome backgrounds, that capture the Victorian mood perfectly.

The Valley of Fear by Arthur Conan Doyle is one of many stories about Doyle’s famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. At the beginning of this novel, Holmes gets a message from one of Professor Moriarty’s agents-Fred Porlock. From time to time, Porlock sends Sherlock inside information about Moriarty’s endeavors. Despite the fact that the law sees Moriarty as innocent, Sherlock firmly believes him to be the puppet master of a criminal underworld.

If you said 'hope' instead of 'fear,' it would be nearer the truth, I'm thinking, Mr. Holmes," the inspector answered, with a knowing grin. Well, maybe a wee nip would keep out the raw morning chill. No, I won't smoke, I thank you. I'll have to be pushing on my way; for the early hours of a case are the precious ones, as no man knows better than your own self. The inspector had stopped suddenly, and was staring with a look of absolute amazement at a paper upon the table.
