Metal Priestess is the second extended play by American punk rock band Plasmatics. It was released on October 21, 1981 by Stiff Records and reissued the same year by PVC Records with an alternative cover. Dan Hartman, who produced acts such as 38 Special and James Brown, among others, had been working on a session in LA when he picked up a copy of Beyond the Valley of 1984 and couldn't stop playing it. It was "ground breaking," he said.

Группы Wendy O. Williams, Plasmatics. 1980 - New Hope for the Wretched - Metal Priestess. 1981 - Beyond The Valley Of 1984. 1984 - WOW. 1986 - Kommander Of Kaos. 1987 - Maggots The Record. 1988 - Deffest And Baddest.

In the early 1980s, if your goal was international media domination, being a punk rock band would only get you so far, so after toying with heavy metal accents on their first two albums, the Plasmatics finally dove headfirst into the genre of black leather and big guitar solos with the 1981 EP Metal Priestess.

Plasmatics (2). Metal Priestess ‎(Cass, MiniAlbum). So far this shit is pretty bad ass! Got through lunacy which is heavy in a pop metal sort of way like for fans of Ghost, way way way before Ghost, but probably for it’s time was super heavy! Oh yeah fuck yeah second track just kicked it off doom song picks up the tempo and will have you naturally head banging

With an album title like "The Metal Priestess" you better fucking deliver the goods musically, and there is no room for complaints here. Many influences are rampant through out this release, most clear in the guitar work would be a strong New York punk influence, and total Motorhead worship while still retaining a completely independent, and ground breaking sound, or style. Holding there own along sides such classic Metal bands as The Mentors, and Motorhead (which is a feat in its own right) no one could out do the stage antics, and overt sexuality of Wendy O Williams, and The Plasmatics. My personal picks would be Masterplan, and Sex Junkie because not only are they easily recognizeable tunes by this killer band, but are true testaments to what Metal will always stand for. This Ep is a Heavy Metal classic which will stand the test of time for all the generations of Metalheads to come.

Talk about Plasmatics - Metal Priestess

Rishason
So far this shit is pretty bad ass! Got through lunacy which is heavy in a pop metal sort of way like for fans of Ghost, way way way before Ghost, but probably for it’s time was super heavy! Oh yeah fuck yeah second track just kicked it off “doom song” picks up the tempo and will have you naturally head banging. Wendy o is insane on this record and right on truly lives up to the metal priestess title! Sex junkie seems to be live is somehow a little less impressive although this is my first listen so I may have to come back to this one at a later time, the crowd certainly seems enthused which lends a lot to imagining the atmosphere of the show although I’m not entirely certain that the audience is really there or just dubbed, but I think it’s dubbed. Side b kicks it off with a classic sounding plasmatics punk rock with just a tinge of Motörhead. When she sings “make my flesh boil” gave me chills! 12 noon is classic 80’s punk dystopia and also classic plas punk. Last track Masterplan pretty speedy and also delving into some interesting and heavy subject matter which seems to be taunting white supremacy hence the lines “masterplan Superman masterplan it makes you feel so sure; master plan ku klux klan master plan you get down on your knees; can’t tell the forest for the trees.” Bad ass anti fascism is what metals all about man! Anyway my favorite track is doom song naturally. Laters
