Derek St. Holmes (born February 24, 1953) is an American musician, best known as the vocalist and rhythm guitar player for Ted Nugent's early solo career. Derek St. Holmes was born and raised in Riverview, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He received his first guitar for his eleventh birthday. He started his own neighborhood band, The Organized Confusion, and also played for high school dances.

Whitford St. Holmes features veteran rockers Brad Whitford (Aerosmith) and Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent). The two originaly paired together in 1981 and have now reunited with an album aptly called Reunion, which hosts nine songs packed with 70s swagger and hooks. Reunion also includes a bonus disc of remastered Whitford/St. Holmes's 1981 debut self-titled album. Whitford St. Holmes will be on tour with WHITESNAKE for the month of June and for July. Holmes’ 1981 release became something of a cult classic, but never quite got the proper recognition that it deserved. Both musicians would return to fame with their better known. with their collaboration being forgotten over the years

Whitford and St. Holmes self-produced Reunion at The Castle Studios in Franklin, Tenn. cutting basic tracks in two days and wrapping the entire nine-song set in just 12 days with bassist Chopper Anderson, keyboardist Buck Johnson and Tesla drummer Troy Lucketta. There's been a nice evolution, I think, in the songwriting," says Whitford, who took a more active roll in helping St. Holmes with the lyrics, letting some frustrations from his "other world" bleed into the songs. Though Aerosmith scrapped a planned North American summer tour for frontman Steven Tyler to finish his country solo album, the group will be getting back together for shows later this fall - starting at the Kaaboo Festival on September 16 and going to South America for nine more dates.

Holmes have announced they’ll release their first material since 1981 next month. Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford and singer Derek St. Holmes launched their self-titled record in 1981 and last year confirmed they had reunited for a studio return. Now they’ve announced that their second album together will be titled Reunion – and it’s set for launch on June 3 via Mailboat Records. Prior to the full-length release, they’ll issue the single Shapes on May 9. Whitford said: Derek and I have always been friends. We started writing a bunch of stuff and we started building a band.
