Omar Rodriguez is the self-titled second solo album by The Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and the first in the "Amsterdam series" (written and recorded in the city in early June 2005). Most of the overdubs and mixing were done on the road in September 2005.

The film displayed the fame that Rodriguez had reached in South Africa from the 1970s all the way through present day, as he still makes trips there to preform concerts for thousands of his fans. This fame, though, was unbeknownst to Rodriguez, as the first copy of Cold Fact to reach South Africa was a bootleg, from which several copies were made; reason why he ended up seeing none of the profits from the record sales. And even still, as he stated in the documentary, he gives most the money he earns from the concerts to his daughters, and continues to live a life of austerity.

Sixto Diaz Rodriguez, known professionally as Rodriguez (born July 10, 1942), is an American singer-songwriter from Detroit, Michigan. His career initially proved short lived in the United States, but unknown to Rodriguez his albums became extremely successful and influential in South Africa, where he is believed to have sold more records than Elvis Presley.

Included on their album is an uptempo remake of this classic 'Cold Fact' song. Not actually written by Rodriguez, this song of urban decay and loneliness fits perfectly on Black Eyed Susan's album of otherwise original material. A great version on an even greater album. Since I have the Rodriguez album 'Cold Fact', I introduced it to some friends and co-workers and everyone liked it and thought it's very unique! They've been surprized that he's totally unknown here, and that he'd never made it in Germany.
