The first half of the album is loaded down with run-of-the-mill disco tracks: Marta Acuna's "Dance Dance Dance" suffers from a repetitive melody and a weak, wobbly-sounding lead vocal, while Hiroshima's "Lion Dance" is a snoozy bit of jazz-disco that relies too much on the novelty overdubbing koto solos over a throbbing dance beat. As a result, Mood Mosaic, Vol. 5: Supervixens - A '70s Modal Collection can only be recommended to disco completists and will probably leave the lounge fans who bought the series' other volumes cold.
