Songs from the Big Chair is the second studio album by the British rock/pop band Tears for Fears, released on 25 February 1985 by Phonogram Records. The album peaked at number two in the UK and number one in the US and Canada. It spawned the international hit singles "Mothers Talk", "Shout", "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", "Head over Heels", and "I Believe". It remains their best-selling album to date.

Canciones De La Gran Silla Songs From The Big Chair ‎(Cass, Album).

The album could almost be called pseudo-conceptual, as each song holds its place and each is integral to the overall tapestry, a single-minded resolve that is easy to overlook when an album is as commercially successful as Songs from the Big Chair. And commercially successful it was, containing no less than three huge commercial radio hits, including the dramatic and insistent march, "Shout" and the shimmering, cascading "Head Over Heels," which, tellingly, is actually part of a song suite on the album. And in the loping, percolating "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," Tears for Fears perfectly captured the zeitgeist of the mid-'80s while impossibly managing to also create a dreamy, timeless pop classic. Songs from the Big Chair is one of the finest statements of the decade.

A Curt and Roland interview with short audio clips (originally included on the UK seven-inch double-pack of Everybody Wants To Rule The World) completes disc two. Songs From The Big Chair, 6-disc super deluxe. A fifth disc is a DVD that contains a brand new 2014 . surround sound mix of Songs From The Big Chair created by Steven Wilson and personally approved by Roland Orzabal. A new 2014 stereo mix is also included. Both mixes are flat transfers with no additional mastering EQ or compression applied.

Shout" is a song by British band Tears for Fears, written by Roland Orzabal and Ian Stanley and sung by Orzabal (with Curt Smith duetting on the chorus). First released in the UK on 23 November 1984, it was the band's eighth single release (the second taken from their second album Songs from the Big Chair) and sixth UK top 40 hit, peaking at number four in January 1985. In the US, it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on 3 August 1985 and remained there for three weeks. Shout" would become one of the most successful songs of 1985, eventually reaching the.

On the album’s title Songs from the Big Chair, Curt Smith told Melody Maker in March of 1985: The title was my idea. It’s a bit perverse but then you’ve got to understand our sense of humour. The ‘Big Chair’ idea is from this brilliant film called Sybil about a girl with 16 different personalities. She’d been tortured incredibly by her mother as a child and the only place she felt safe, the only time she could really be herself was when she was sitting in her analyst’s chair. She felt safe, comfortable and wasn’t using her different faces as a defence.

Could it be that the last digit in the run out is not a zero but the letter C ?
