Timothy Allen Burris is an American lutenist. He studied under Toyohiko Satoh at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, graduating in 1988. From 1990 to 1996, Timothy Burris was lute instructor at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp, Belgium. Currently, he teaches lute at the Portland Conservatory of Music in Portland, Maine.

Timothy Burris has performed throughout Europe and the US, both as a soloist and an accompanist. He has appeared in concert with such esteemed artists as the mezzo-soprano Jennifer Lane and the keyboardist Robert Hill, as well as under the baton of Peter Schreier and René Clemencic, among others. His solo playing has been called sensitive and impressive (The Virginia Gazette), displaying distinguished musicality and a depth of artistry (La Semaine d’Anvers), and whet the appetite for more (Fanfare)
