Harry Monk - Volume One. subheadsven. Vini Vici - Universe Inside.

Volume One is the debut album by the American band Sleep. It was the only album recorded with original guitarist Justin Marler, before he became an Orthodox monk. Volume One showcases a darker sound and stronger doom metal influence than Sleep's later work. The image featured on the cover is taken from the Salvador Dalí painting "Soft Self-Portrait with Fried Bacon". Al Cisneros - bass guitar, vocals. Matt Pike - electric guitar. Justin Marler - electric guitar. Chris Hakius - drums.

Genius of Modern Music: Volume 1 is the name given to at least four different compilation albums by jazz pianist Thelonious Monk. Each version comprises some of Monk's first recordings as band leader for Blue Note, recorded in 1947 (and sometimes 1948). The original LP with this title was compiled in 1951. Two different CD compilations have been given this title.

Volume One, Volume 1, or Volume I may refer to: Albums. Volume One (The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band album), 1966. Volume One (Sleep album). Volume One (Fluff album). Volume One (She & Him album), 2008. Volume One (Two Steps from Hell album), 2006. Volume One (TV series), aired in 1949. The Honeydrippers: Volume One, 1984. The Suffering" - 5:12.

Oh shit has Monk ever got you covered. But for me, until I decide to go back to school and take music theory classes (not happening!), it’s all about the feel. And this storied piano player, composer and band leader had me hooked from the first time I heard Brilliant Corners and took a deep dive into his work. Genius Of Modern Music Volume One + Two. AM: I may contradict this point a bit in covering the next album on this list, but, honestly, there are few better ways to get into Monk’s work than these two volumes of Genius Of Modern Music. As Ryan points out, it’s straight-up craziness that these are the first recordings of Monk, given that they’re essentially all his greatest hits.
