Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo consisting of brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin. Signing to Skam and then Warp Records in the 1990s, the duo received recognition following the release of their debut album Music Has the Right to Children in 1998. Their subsequent albums, Geogaddi (2002), The Campfire Headphase (2005) and Tomorrow's Harvest (2013), have received critical praise. They have remained reclusive, rarely giving interviews or performing live.

Boc Maxima was released by Boards of Canada on Music70 in 1996. This is prior to their more public releases on Skam Records and Warp Records. Many of Boc Maxima songs were reused in 1998's Music Has the Right to Children. Boc Maxima was broadcast in full on Disengage in 2002. Some songs have minor differences. The speech on "One Very Important Thought" differs between the two releases, as does the name of the song "Boc Maxima", renamed "Bocuma" for Music Has the Right to Children Track listing. Boards Of Canada - Roygbiv. Alright, while that last song is good, I needed to leave tonight with something better. I’m in a sleep deprived state where I can rant about how good this duo is, and this song specifically, but all I’ll refrain and just say it makes me happy. I will listen to the one off Boc Maxima. I went through a stage where I listened to this song all the time because I found the beat satisfying. I always listen until the CREEPY PART happens. Anyway now I no longer find the beat satisfying. If you keep listening at 1:23 there is a super crunchy beat that starts which diminishes the creepiness of the other sounds. The song would be much better without the creepy bits.
