Chumbawamba's second album, Never Mind the Ballots. Here's the Rest of Your Lives, was released in 1987, coinciding with the general election, and questions the validity of the British democratic system of the time. The band adopted another moniker, Scab Aid, for the "Let It Be" song release that parodied a version of the Beatles song recorded by the popstar  . Chumbawamba released the album WYSIWYG in 2000 which included a cover of the early Bee Gees song "New York Mining Disaster". In 2007 Danbert released his second solo album Library Book Of The World, his first being The Un-fairy Tale in 1985. The Un fairy-tale was re-released in 1997. Set during the Luddite rebellion it included satiric and humorous parallels to the then Gordon Brown government and state of living in the UK.

I remember ASOM shows and they seemed very dedicated to what they were doing. I wonder what happened to everyone. Other than Carolyn Fok there seems to be no information anywhere on the internet. Anyone know? Reply Notify me Helpful.

Anarchy is the sixth studio album by anarcho-punk band Chumbawamba. Many of the tracks address specific social issues, such as homophobia, strikes or fascism. Its graphic cover, depicting a baby's head emerging from a vagina, prompted the record to be banned from some shops and stocked in plain sleeves in others.

Shhh is the fifth studio album by the band Chumbawamba. It was originally written and recorded as Jesus H. Christ, an album that relied heavily on samples. The band was unable to procure rights to a number of the songs they sampled, however, and the album was largely re-worked to defend artistic intent and criticize censorship. The album sleeve artwork itself incorporated various rejection letters received by the band denying the rights to the Christ samples

The liner notes on the album Tubthumper, from which "Tubthumping" was the first single, put the song in a radical context, quoting a UK anti-road protester, Paris 1968 graffiti, details about the famous McLibel case and the short story "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner". Tubthumping" Track Info. Written By Danbert Nobacon, Boff Whalley, Lou Watts & 5 more. Release Date August 11, 1997. Sampled In. Knocked Down by Chris Webby. Piss by Neil Cicierega.

Before we released a Chumbawamba album there was a musical movement around called Oi!, championed by the music journalist Garry Bushell. It attracted lots of fascists. We invented an Oi! band and he invited us to record a song in these posh studios in London; instead we just shouted I’m thick! 64 times. That album actually came ou. ubthumping was written as a collective – like everything else. We wanted to make a very English album and the song is about the resilience of ordinary people. Lyrics to "Tubthumping" song by Chumbawamba: Truth is I thought it mattered I thought that music mattered But does it? Bollocks Not compared to . .The beauty of it was we had no idea how big it would b. The beginning of the album version of this song contains a quote from the film "Brassed Off" (1996). These lyrics have a reference to the Irish folk song "Danny Boy". This was the band's most-successful song, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart. Rolling Stone magazine place this song at number 12 on its list of the 20 Most-Annoying Songs.

Anyone who has listened to the radio for more than five minutes during the late 1990s will be familiar with Chumbawamba and their smash hit Tubthumping (also unofficially known as I Get Knocked Down). What most casual listeners blasting the infectious pop-rock anthem on their way to work will not know is that the British anarco-rockers are anything but one-hit wonders, having built a long and dignified career both before and after Tubthumping. In fact, it can almost be argued that the ubiquitous song is an anomaly in Chumbawamba's career.
