TITLE added to MP3 cart., Furtwängler: Symphony N. (2 CDs). Berliner Philharmoniker & Wilhelm Furtwängler. As to the Schumann 4th-yes, of course, I agree. One of the greatest recordings of all time, as is the case with much of Furtwangler's recorded output. The 4th Symphony by Robert Schumann, is the most drammatic of all of the composer's symphonies. It was completed in his last period, 1851, towards to tragic end of his life. This symphony to be constitued in a single movement, written as a symphonic-fantasia.

Schumann: Symphony N. Furtwängler, Berlin Philharmonic. Furtwängler's legendary 1953 recording of Schumann's Fourth with the Berlin Philharmonic. Rather than settling on a specific tempo, he lets the music pulsate at its own rate.
