Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 Choral. Ludwig van Beethoven. But I do know that Wilhelm Furtwängler has effectively spoiled Beethoven's Ninth for me: I have listened to other interpretations of this greatest of symphonies by other conductors since hearing this, and while many of them are good in their own way none of them can hold a candle to this performance. If you listen to this first it will just ruin all other Ninths for you and you don't want that.
