The Flogsta Scream occurs every night at 10 . when university students living in Uppsala’s Flogsta neighborhood stop what they’re doing and let out a collective scream from their windows, balconies, and rooftops.

Scream (Michael Jackson album). Scream is a compilation album by American singer Michael Jackson, released on September 29, 2017. The album compiles songs around a Halloween theme. It is the eleventh release by Sony and/or Motown since Jackson's death on June 25, 2009.

The Scream is the debut studio album by British alternative rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. Recorded in one week and mixed in three during August 1978, it was released on 13 November 1978 by record label Polydor. Before the album's release, the band had developed a strong reputation as a live act, and had achieved a Top 10 UK single with "Hong Kong Garden" (which did not appear on the original album).

Flogsta (aka Party Central) is one of the major student housing blocks within Uppsala. Originally built in the 1970s, Flogsta is managed by Heimstaden which was at one point voted the worst landlord in Sweden which should give you some idea why the area might be referred to as Uppsala's ghetto. There is some debate about the origins of the Flogsta scream. Some say that it was to commemorate a student who committed suicide many years ago although the more common explanation is that it was started by a bunch of students who got extremely nervous about an upcoming exam. Regardless of where the scream came from, it has become an integral part of Flogsta life serving an important indicator of when 10pm has arrived. I like to think of it as like a cuckoo clock that only works at 10pm. Yes the Flogsta Scream is a real thing and yes you will hear it every night.

The Flogsta Scream - So apparently every night at 10 the people of Flogsta (the neighborhood where some of the university students in Uppsala live) scream out their windows at the top of their lungs. Jenn says they do it to relieve stress and create a sense of community. I thought it was a pretty kool tradition, so here’s a vid of us taking part ] Also, if you listen closely you can hear the other residents’ screams right after our scream.

This weekend, the internet discovered the Flogsta scream. That's a tradition when students living in particular Swedish university areas open their windows and shout at around 10 PM or 11 PM (depending on where you live). MTV posted a one-year-old video in which a student opens the window in his student flat at Lappskärrsberget in Stockholm, screams out from the window, and in return hears screams from all over the place as if it was something occult happening in the neighbourhood. No, the entire country won't scream back. But students living on Sernanders väg in Uppsala will, at around 10 PM every day; students living on Lappkärrsberget will, but only on Tuesdays at 10 PM; and students in Lund will at 11 PM. I'm sorry to break it to you, but the Flogsta screams are neither occult nor something new. It's not typical for Sweden as such either.
