I can appreciate the early recordings made during the bands formative years but most tracks can only be listened to at very low volume. On the positive side, the packaging is great. 2 people found this helpful.

Santana moved to San Francisco and, in October 1966, started the Santana Blues Band. By 1968, the band had begun to incorporate different types of influences into their electric blues. If I would go to some cat's room," remembered the guitarist of the band, "he'd be listening to Sly and Jimi Hendrix; another guy to the Stones and the Beatles. The band Santana returned in 1985 with a new album, Beyond Appearances, and two years later with Freedom. L to R: Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Santana in Hamburg, May 1984. During his early career Santana used a GMT transistor amplifier stack and a silverface Fender Twin. The GMT 226A rig was used at the Woodstock concert as well as during recording Santana's debut album.
