Cringer started in Hawaii back in 1984. Lance and Ed were from the Waianae side (Nanakuli and Makaha respectively) while Gardner and David Carr were from Kahala. Lance and Ed had previously been in the straight edge/skatecore band, Scarred For Life. Derrick from Hawaii joined and Simon eventually split. Nigel joined and the group recorded their first album, "Tikki Tikki Tembo No Sa Rembo Chari Bari Ruchi Pip Peri Pembo". Nigel eventually split and was replaced briefly by Dave Gomez. This era of the group had a lot of shows inlcuding Kent McClard's first one and a big outdoor protest at the Nevada Nuclear Test Site.

Cringer released material on Vinyl Communications and Lookout Records. com/cringerhbr: While it wasn't the best of times or the worst of times, Cringer was something to do instead of college and a chance for four punker kids to see the world. Cringer started in Hawaii back in 1984.

Cringer was a band from Hawaii that included Lance Hahn and Gardner Maxam (later of J Church), among others. Named after a talking cat from the cartoon He-Man, the group existed from summer 1985 to fall 1991. Hahn died in October 2007. The first single released from the album, "Mean Mistreater", was released on November 23 and the second, "Inside Looking Out", was released in January 1971. The album was originally released as a double album on the LP format. Subsequent reissues of the album on the compact disc format have been both double and single disc sets.
