The 12-inch EP originally featured with six tracks, then, a year later in 1985, it was released on cassette with five additional songs that lengthened the release to a full album. This expansion became the default version of Remission. Remission was certified gold by Music Canada on January 31, 2000.

Rabies is the fifth studio album by Skinny Puppy. It was released on November 21, 1989 through Nettwerk. The album spawned two singles, "Tin Omen" and "Worlock", the latter of which becoming one of the band's most recognizable songs. The cover art was made by longtime Skinny Puppy collaborator Steven R. Gilmore

Lead by cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre, the band quickly garnered an international fanbase and followed up their new success with 1985’s Bites, which produced their first underground hit, Assimilate. As usual the problems are stemming from Nettwerk Records and their utter and complete incompetence.

REMISSION, SP's first EP, remains the Puppy's finest hour. The breadth of vision and amazing instrumental prowess of vocalist Nivek Ogre and sound-designer Cevin Key will likely never be transcended. Though their modus operandi revolved around the darker subjects of this world, Ogre and Key were world-class synthesists and programmers. These multi-talented sound manipulators couched their ruminations about man's shadowy side in mind-bending whorls of haunted rhythm boxes, spooky, galvanizing synths, and various unidentifiable shards of noise.
