Jóhann Jóhannsson - Odi Et Amo. 720. 32. Jóhann Jóhannsson - Englabörn & Variations. Jóhann Jóhannsson sadly died in February, shortly after this concert was announced. Sixteen years after his debut album 'Englabörn', and shortly before his untimely passing, Jóhann reimagined his inaugural work with this now very poignant release. He invited his friends Hildur Gudnadóttir, Ryuichi Sakamoto 坂本龍一, Alex Somers, Viktor Orri Arnason, A Winged Victory For The Sullen and Paul Corley to each reinterpret pieces from the album, and created his own reworks featuring Francesco Donadello, Theatre of Voices and Víkingur Ólafsson.
During this time, Jóhannsson continued to work on personal projects including this, his Deustche Grammophon debut.
