Although they're only remembered today for their 1964 hit "Hippy Hippy Shake", which charted on both sides of the Atlantic - the Swinging Blue Jeans were actually one of the strongest of the Liverpool bands from the '60s British Invasion. This, the first album by The Swinging Blue Jean, highlights the versatility that has made the group one of the top attractions on the British Beat Scene. This album provides the evidence – ironically, with a little better choice of material, it would rate very close behind the With the Beatles LP as a fresh and brilliant piece of music-making, and even as it stands, it's not too far behind.
