I recently learned about Ahmad Jamal from a special presentation on the local jazz radio station. I am embarrassed to say that I had never heard of him. The music featured on the show was "Poinciana. I immediately fell in love with his music. This album is very recent (he is 88 now) and contains all live performances. I have to say that this album has one of the most beautiful versions of Poinciana that I have found. This album also contains songs that we have heard many times over the years such as, Blue Moon, Autumn Rain, and I Remember Italy. However, they are all re-interpreted.
