Ladies' Night is the eleventh studio album by the funk band Kool & the Gang, released in 1979. The album became their first major success especially after the release of the title track, the . Ladies' Night," and the . follow-up "Too Hot" which both became Billboard Top 10 hits. The album brought a return to the mainstream after a lull in success from 1976-1978. In addition all the cuts from the album reached number five on the disco chart.

Ladies Night marked an upswing in Kool & the Gang's waning career after the increasing popularity of disco left no room for their signature funk sound on the charts. They hadn't cracked the Top 10 in three years. Bassist Robert "Kool" Bell told Record: "It was a rough time.

The song became a top 20 hit in Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium (Flanders), Belgium (Wallonia) and Denmark.

BTW: The 3% figure refers to the first song, not the album. Also, the CD master has gaps between the songs that weren't there on the original vinyl.

Hilariously, this album never sounded the same after being transfered to CD. Why? When it was being mastered for CD, some dumb ass couldn't be bothered to set up the tape machine the correct way, so the CD master ended up being 3% faster than it was supposed to be. To this day, K&TG's label can't be bothered to release a fixed version of this album on CD :-(
