Chicago (sometimes referred to as Chicago II) is the second studio album by Chicago-based American rock band Chicago. Like their debut album, Chicago Transit Authority, this was a double album. It was their first album under the name Chicago (the band's prior name, Chicago Transit Authority, was changed due to a threatened lawsuit from the Chicago Transit Authority) and the first to use the now ubiquitous cursive Chicago logo on the cover

In 2002, Chicago was remastered and reissued on one CD by Rhino Records with the single versions of "Make Me Smile" and "25 or 6 to 4" as bonus tracks. Rhino released a DVD-Audio version of the album in 2003, featuring both Advanced Resolution Stereo and . surround sound mixes. In 2016, progressive rock musician Steven Wilson remixed Chicago from the master tapes Track listing.

The contents of Chicago II (1970) underscore the solid foundation of complex jazz changes with heavy electric rock & roll that the band so brazenly forged on the first set. The septet also continued its ability to blend the seemingly divergent musical styles into some of the best and most effective pop music of the era.

Live in Japan (Chicago album). Live in Japan is a 1975 live album by American rock band Chicago. It was recorded over the course of three days at the Osaka Festival Hall on the band's tour in support of Chicago V in 1972. They performed both songs in Japanese during their stay, which are documented on this album.

Then called the Chicago Transit Authority, they'd eventually take the merging of jazz and rock to new heights. Of course, the idea of horns in rock and roll was nothing new. (Ask fellow Chicago natives the Buckinghams. Though their debut album, released in the spring of 1969, was full of great songs, the singles failed to catch. It would be the band's second release, simply titled Chicago, that would make the public take notice. That album spawned three Top 10 hits.

Does anyone need another Chicago album besides this one? For the casual fan, the answer is definitely no. The 1975 blockbuster includes all the band’s hits from its prime. Released in 1970, Chicago’s second album brims with confidence and inspiration as it draws on everything from orchestral music to heavy rock. Although it never affected the record’s popularity – it peaked at on the album chart and spawned a trio of Top Ten hits – many fans have longed for a more-nuanced mix. That wish is about to come true with a new stereo version created by British musician and producer Steven Wilson. Chicago II has been remixed before, but never like this.

Chicago is the second studio album by Chicago-based American rock band Chicago  . The centerpiece of the album was the thirteen-minute
