Elkhorn is a duo-Jesse Sheppard and Drew Gardner-and these two LPs (released individually, but recorded more or less simultaneously) explore a whole warren of new style caverns. Sun Cycle is closer to their pure duo sound (although guitarist Willie Lane and percussionist Ryan Jewell are along for the ride)

Elkhorn coral (Acropora palmata) is a prominent Caribbean reef-building coral, although current populations are still struggling to recover from white band disease outbreak. This species is structurally complex with many large branches. The coral structure resembles that of elk antlers. These branches create habitats for many other reef species, such as lobsters, parrot-fish, snapper shrimps and other reef fish

Cheer Up! is the fourth full-length release from ska punk band Reel Big Fish. It is a slight departure from the band's other releases, veering toward more of a rock sound as opposed to ska, especially on the first five tracks, where nary a syncopated drum beat or upstroke on the guitar is heard. Nevertheless, the album is a continuation of the band's longstanding tradition of putting self-loathing lyrics to upbeat music

Evidence too, that by the next Elkhorn album, they must a have at least one semi-permanent percussionist working with them. By the 15 minute mark, they are channelling the spirit of a stripped down early Funkadelic, grooving on a slow burning jam. The other track that makes this an essential purchase is the Philadelphia Record Exchange version, featuring the mighty Wet Tuna, freak folk veterans Pat Gubler and Matt Valentine. If anyone is forging a parallel path to Elkhorn, it is Wet Tuna, and this version of Fish is a deeply satisfying four-way meeting of minds

Three Fish is a musical collaboration between Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, Robbi Robb of Tribe After Tribe, and Richard Stuverud of the Fastbacks. The album's recording sessions took place from August 1994 to January 1996 at John & Stu's Place and Avast Recording Co. in Seattle, Washington. The band worked with producer John Goodmanson, who also mixed the album. The album's cover art was illustrated by Ames Design. The album's songs combine rock music with mystical-style Eastern music.
