Dominique Merlet (born 18 February 1938) is a French contemporary pianist, organist and music educator. Born in Bordeaux, Dominique Merlet was a student of Roger-Ducasse, Louis Hiltbrand, and Nadia Boulanger. He won three first prizes at the Conservatoire de Paris before winning the premier prix, together with Martha Argerich, at the Geneva International Music Competition in 1957.

Robert Schumann (1810-1856) - classical composer. Schumann's parents were not musical but they encouraged his interest in music with Piano lessons from the age of 10. However his family was later to be beset by tragedy. For further listening, Cary Chow's album Zirkus consisting of the solo piano works Carnaval and Kreisleriana, is an excellent place to start. Selected Sheet Music by Robert Schumann: To date, we have chosen to represent the works of Robert Schumann within the mfiles catalogue by reference to his simpler piano works for children. These well-loved pieces have been in the repertoire of the student pianist for many years and no doubt will continue to be so. His "Kinderszenen" or "Scenes from Childhood" O. 5 is an early collection consisting of 13 pieces

Robert Schumann, the German composer, aesthete and a renowned music critic was perhaps the most influential composer of the Romantic era. His works often incorporated autobiographical elements and usually had descriptive titles, texts, or programs. As a writer and a critic, he played a great role in popularizing some of the leading composers of his day.

This list of compositions by Robert Schumann is classified into piano, vocal, choral, orchestral and chamber works. All works are also listed separately, by opus number. Schumann wrote almost exclusively for the piano until 1840, when he burst into song composition around the time of his marriage to Clara Wieck. Op. 1, Variations on the name "Abegg" (1830). 3, Études after Paganini Caprices (1832). 4, Intermezzi (1832).
