Full Fading Sprouting from the same mind that created the Books - one of the most acclaimed and innovative groups of the past decade - Zammuto marks a deep reinvention of the highly detailed, genre-defying spirit that made seminal albums such asThe Lemon of Pink and The Way Out possible. Got it. + add. album.

Nick Zammuto is an experimental folk, indie rock musician, formerly one half of the highly acclaimed duo The Books. After he and the other half (Paul de Jong) broke up in early 2012, he released the solo album, Zammuto. Zammuto is currently a four-piece band consisting of Nick, his brother Mikey, Nick Oddy, and Sean Dixon.

He then composed additional instrumentation around this structure, in the process revealing the natural cadence and harmony within each phrase. On It Can Feel So Good, Zammuto built a tuned array of PVC pipes and a device that holds a small speaker in the optimal position for re-recording sounds though them (pictured on the Veryone's cover)

Zammuto is an album by The Books member Nick Zammuto, released on April 3, 2012. It is his first release from Zammuto after ending The Books project in early 2012. In March, he released "Too Late to Topologize" as a free download on his Soundcloud page. Groan Man, Don't Cry" - 6:01. Too Late to Topologize" - 3:38. Weird Ceiling" - 3:39.

Other voices wail out in the background as anthemic keyboards explode out of the choruses. The song is brilliant, capturing something midway between Sung Tongs-era Animal Collective and the Books' high-water-mark album The Lemon of Pink. After such a strong start, however, the album gets lost quickly.

Audio alchemist and one half of the gorgeously fragmentary pop team The Books, Nick Zammuto makes his solo debut with this full-length under his last name. There's a roving chaos to the disc, not completely divorced from the springy shifts of his other band, but definitely a different animal.
