Bazooka Tooth is the fourth studio album by American hip hop artist Aesop Rock. It was released on Definitive Jux in 2003. Rollie Pemberton of Pitchfork called Bazooka Tooth "another strong outing from one of underground hip-hop's most talented, thanks in no small part to its unprecedented wealth of lyrical depth and individual production style

Bazooka Tooth Lyrics. That jackhammer is so real. Diamond cutter spine Armadillo armor that bends around the blades Bugs in the beard Ebony in the lungpiece Bricks in the Timbs Bazooka in the tooth that he's flashing at your friends This is the lifestyle, baby No insipid recipes Not a single innocuous atom in the centerpiece Oh my god! Journalists across the globe are officially critiquing my first eight bars.

As far as the expectations go, Bazooka Tooth delivers on most of its promise. The beats are dense and the bass-lines dark, like street-level rap is supposed to be, with a jumble of murky samples and angled effects coming from every direction. And Ace Rock's lurching, nasally flow and obscurist rhymes may not carry every lyric across, but do allow listeners to marvel at the few legible lines.

Aesop Rock's abstract lyricism and gravel throat have earned him critical acclaim and a rabid following, but he's no longer just a Long Island poet-cum-cipher slayer, and some of the changes he's made to his style on Bazooka Tooth are drawing attention.

This album is definitely heavy on collaborative efforts. The album was recorded and mixed by Nasa, El-P being the executive producer/performer ("We're Famous"). We also catch glimpses of Mr. Lif ("11:35"), Camp Lo ("Limelighters"), . "Cook It Up"), Blockhead (producer on "Cook It Up", "Babies With Guns", and "11:35"), scratching by DJ Cip One, and DJ paWL, and additional spots featuring Cannibal Ox, .

I agree for the most part, though I'd probably have rated it slightly higher. Bazooka Tooth delivers differently to Aesop fans than his other albums do I've noticed.
