Show Time is the fifth album and first live album by guitarist Ry Cooder, produced by Cooder and released on the Warner Bros. Records label in January 1977. LP side A. "School Is Out" (Frank Guida, Gary Anderson, Gene Barge, Joseph Royster) – 2:37. Alimony" (Brenda Lee Jones, Robert Higginbotham, Welton Young) – 4:44. Jesus On The Mainline" (Traditional; adapted by Ry Cooder) – 5:27. The Dark End of the Street" (Chips Moman, Dan Penn) – 6:43.

Following the odd, but entertaining Hawaiian, southwestern mix of Chicken Skin Music, Ry Cooder hit the road with a group of Tex-Mex musicians led by the great accordionist Flaco Jiminez. To make things even more interesting, he also included three soul- and gospel-based backup singers in the lineup (two of whom had appeared on Chicken Skin Music). Recorded in December of 1976, over a span of two nights in San Francisco, Show Time documents these shows by Cooder and his "Chicken Skin Revue

He is a t but is best known for his slide guitar work, his interest in roots music from the United States, and his collaborations with traditional musicians from many countries. Cooder's solo work draws upon many genres.

Imported ed. Live, Import. Import only Live release recorded in San Francisco in 1977 in support of his '76 album, Chicken Shack Music. The perfomance included three soul and gospel back singers, accordionist Flaco Jiminez amongst many others. Highlights include their beautiful version of 'The Dark End of the Street' and 'Volver, Volver'. Not a typical live show. With Flaco Jimenez and well recorded. Different versions of songs previously released on studio albums.
