Even though one suspects that the man himself finds it rather easy, it’s really hard to love Pharrell Williams. He’s like a one-man embodiment of Napoleon. The band's fourth studio album, Nothing was originally named Instant Gratification due to what Williams called "the microwave er. "People want what they want now. The problem is that once we made the music, it was good-just like microwave food. D ended up scrapping the first batch of album cuts, opting to start anew with "nothing" in hopes of delivering a dope final product. Describing Nothing as "The Doors meets Crosby, Stills & Nash," Williams called the project "the next rung in our ladder.
